Introduction
Our knowledge of medicine has evolved so much over the past few centuries. Medicine used to be more of an art, and less of a science. People died of illnesses that we now deem “minor illnesses,” because of lack of treatment, the treatment itself, and other complications. Doctors were not judged by their number of successes, but of their “scholarliness.” This website will show you where medicine went wrong in the Revolutionary War era, and when it began to take a turn for the better.
